The EIVA has received an official update from the AAU, which is included below, that all events be temporarily suspended for the next 3 weeks. Our EIVA events are sanctioned by the AAU and will therefore be suspended for this amount of time. Club directors will be contacted with further details relating to events impacted this decision. We will continue to monitor this situation as an organization and will provide information as quickly as possible.

Re: Coronavirus Update

In light of the ongoing developments as a result of COVID-19 (“Coronavirus”), the AAU is temporarily suspending ALL AAU events, for the next 3 weeks, effective immediately. The AAU’s first priority is the safety and welfare of all of our athletes, coaches and families. As a result, licenses are temporarily suspended for the next three weeks pursuant to the AAU Code.

The AAU will continue to monitor the situation on a national, regional, state and local level. We will keep all of our AAU members updated as the situation evolves.

League Tournaments

Registration

Registration deadline for all tournaments is January 31.

All participants must have a current AAU membership.  Your EIVA Team Roster or AAU club roster will be checked at each tournament prior to your first match.

Tournament Dates
  • Saturdays, March 7 through May 9
  • League events suspended March 14, 21, & 28
Fees and Registration
  • Fees must be paid for all players prior to the registration deadline:
    • U10 and U12: $31 per player
    • U14 and U16: $36 per player
    • Make a payment
  • The EIVA Team Blocked Dates form must be submitted to  prior to the league registration deadline.
  • An EIVA Team Roster or AAU club roster containing all participating players and coaches must be submitted to  prior to the registration deadline.
  • The EIVA Gym Availability form must be submitted to  prior to the league registration deadline.

Locations

All tournaments will be hosted in the Idaho Falls East Idaho Region and sites will be determined no later than two weeks before the scheduled tournament.  Maps and directions to league tournament venues can be found on the Locations page.

League Format & Rules

No-Shows

League Director must be contacted 14 days before the scheduled tournament to drop a team without penalty. Failure to do so will result in a $100 fine to be paid before participation in future tournaments.

Rules

All levels will play by general USA Volleyball domestic competition regulations. Modifications and reminders for each age level are included below.

Player age classification is determined using the USAV Age Definition Chart.

All Levels
  • May start with 5 players. Phantom player penalty will be in effect.
  • Boys are allowed to participate, but must play up one division.  A U10 boy must play on a U12 team, a U12 boy must play on a U14 team, and a U14 boy must play on a U16 team.
  • Officials will fill out game results form and submit to League Director no later than the following Sunday after the tournament.
U10
  • 2 sets to 15 minutes.
  • No crossover match.
  • Use Volley-Lite volleyballs only.
  • Serving rules
  • USAV net height of 6'6".
  • Players line judge and keep score.
U12
  • 2 sets to 25 in pool play.
  • No crossover match.
  • Use Volley-Lite volleyballs only.
  • Serving rules
  • USAV net height of 7'0".
  • Use modified score sheets for simplicity.
  • Players line judge and keep score. Coach can be very helpful assisting as R2.
U14
  • 2 sets to 25 in pool play.
  • Crossover Match 2/3 according to placing in pool play.
  • USAV net height of 7'4 1/8".
  • Players R2, line judge and keep score.
U16
  • 2 sets to 25 in pool play.
  • Crossover Match 2/3 according to placing in pool play.
  • USAV net height of 7'4 1/8".
  • Players R2, line judge and keep score.
